After losing the last week’s elections to President Museveni of the National resistance Movement (NRM) with a difference close to 50%, Dr. Kizza Besigye of the Inter party Cooperation (IPC) has declined to accept defeat.
Besigye who went into elections with assurance of winning the elections claims that the exercise was full of malpractices like bribing voters and rigging votes at the polling stations.
While talking to the media at his offices in Najjanankumbi Kampala today Besigye said that the top organ of the party is organizing to meet and forge a way forward to challenge the electoral commission on the 2011 election results.
During campaigns the aggrieved Besigye has been saying that he will not go to court for redress but will use other avenues.
The results that were announced by the Chairman Electoral Commission Badru Kiggundu in presence of the international observers on 20th, President Museveni polled 68.38% while Retired Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye Warren Kifefe polled 26.01% leaving the rest six candidates a of share of 5.6%
