'Besigye trailing Museveni by 49.61%' - Daily Monitor

The official third preliminary results show Dr Besigye trailing incumbent Museveni by 767064 votes. Results from 4720 polling stations so far received put the FDC candidate at 344730 votes [22.29%] and candidate Museveni at 1111794 [71.9%].

The other candidates: Abed Bwanika so far has 10401 votes [.67%], BETTY Kamya 9440 [.61%]; Bidandi Sali 6671 votes [.43%]; Norbert Mao 21181 votes [1.37%]; Olara Otunu is 2.26% with 34887 votes and Samuel Lubega at .47% with 7263 votes.

The results are from a total of 1616359 votes cast, with 1546367 valid votes and 69992 invalid ones.
Counting continues and it is expected that by close of day, the winner for the race to presidency will be announced
